When it’s time to get away, it doesn’t really matter what you are doing, it all seems wrong; like you are just buying time, simply spinning your wheels. Â When your head and heart are in a different place, it’s time to make a change in scenery as well. Â
That’s what happens during the first part of our year, as we use it to recharge our batteries and relocate our asses to warmer weather. Â
Carl is the real globe trotter.  He and his wife have been everywhere, and those places still on his list to visit, are all on notice.  This year, he is on route to Africa and other places unknown.  Well, I imagine when he returned, they might be known at that point.  So many of us are afraid to venture out our front doors; worrying about what might happen, or how the weather will affect them.  Not Carl, he seems to know every square inch of  our world, and aspire to see what he has yet to map.
As for me, I spent my down time traveling just a little south, down to South Carolina. Â My daughter and her family have made a nice home outside of Charleston, and I just needed to be warn for a while. Â The problem is that I took a cough with me and everyone eventually got to enjoy it. Â Grrrrrrr…
One thing I have always been able to do is to disconnect from everything when I am lucky enough to get away. Â I can pretty much block everything else out, and focus on relaxing and re-charging. Â I know that a lot of you don’t want to hear this, but it’s not all smiles and beers when we are entertaining. Â There is some of that, but it’s 99% hard work and effort that keeps people entertained. Â Don’t get me wrong, we love it, but I’m just letting you know that it is not easy.
That being said, when we get back, we will be ready and awaiting our very first concert on the boardwalk. Â Beautiful sunshine, people and oh yes, frosty, full beers!!
