Some traditions we take part in are so much fun we wish that they would be more than once a year. Â I’m taking about our Irish kickoff party in Saint Clair Shores, at Blossom Heath. Â Every March for the last few years, Carl and I have had the honor of entertaining for the good people at the Saint Clair Shores Hockey Association. Â
Inside the tent are a lot of people dressed in green, drinking beer of the. very same color. Â We don’t mind at all, in fact we fit right in. Â We dress in some of our Irish finery, and we certainly do drink some Irish liquid now and again.
It might be cold, it might be windy. Â It may be wet or snowy or any combination of all three at the very same time. Â That’s just what you can expect this time of year, near the water. Â We have to remember, spring is just getting started, and summer is right around the corner; but neither one of them are here just quite yet!
No-one seems to be letting the weather bother them in any way shape or form. Â The sun is out, and although it’s a wee bit windy, the day is truly beautiful. Â
Carl and I love playing Irish music, and when we finally do get the chance to sing a lyric of two, we could simply play all day. Â (and have many many times)
On this day though, we are only playing for a few hours, and then will turn it over to some bag pipers and another “Irish” band. Â We love playing at Blossom Heath. Â We know everyone by now, the layout of the land and they even moved the tent closer to the street for easy access. Â Can’t wait until next year!
