Dateline Africa: 4-20-26

Another installment of our trip to Africa:

Monday morning we left for Botswana. We checked into Cresta Mowana Safari Resort right on the Chobe River. Another very African vibe with modern amenities. It’s an all-inclusive resort, so lodging, food and activities are all part of the package.

We went on a boat ride down the quite flooded Chobe River for a sunset cruise and saw some animals, including a few elephants. Botswana has the most elephants in the world.

The other side of the river was Namibia, so technically, our cruises down the Zambezi and Chobe rivers gave us two more countries on our list of travels.

Today we rose early for a very fun game drive. This was the quintessential safari I was imagining when we were planning our trip. Rutted dirt roads, paths through the brush, and a guide that helped us find the lions!

We are opting to go on another game drive late this afternoon.

And, then, it’s time tomorrow to fly back home. First a ride and visa entry back into Zimbabwe, a flight to Johannesburg, a flight to Atlanta, and lastly a flight to Detroit. Wish us Safe Travels!
