Clancey’s<\/a> began to fill quickly and we needed to keep pace. \u00a0The music got faster, as tempos raced and melodies got simpler. \u00a0Soon bagpipers arrived to do what they<\/em> do.<\/p>\n The green beer began to flow in earnest, and all the while we played . . . Green alligators, and long-necked geese . . .<\/em><\/p>\n As the two O’clock hour approached we had completely filled the bar. \u00a0Enthralled that this year would begin the pendulum swing back to a more normal level of insanity, we set our sights on the second half of our day.<\/p>\n After a quick tear-down and set up, we were soon letting those green alligators loose upon unsuspecting partiers in an entirely new location. \u00a0Their entertainment was just winding down as we arrived to stake our claim on the main course of the day.<\/p>\n The five O’clock hour had us attempting to pick up where we had left off at two. \u00a0Only now we were at The green Lantern Lounge<\/a> with our long time friend Jewels. \u00a0Jewels brought\u00a0us to\u00a0Rosy O’ Grady’s<\/strong> in the nineties. \u00a0We played there for many a St. Pat’s party, and followed her to Limelight’s<\/strong>, in Rochester.<\/p>\n Now at the Lantern once more, we could settle in and enjoy the sweet aroma of green beer and pizza. \u00a0All we needed to do was to add music, and that we did. \u00a0Several friends followed us from location to location on this day, never missing a beat or a chorus.<\/p>\n We are never too sure if people come to hear us<\/em> on St. Pat’s at the lantern, as the food is the main reason for their visit. \u00a0I guess I wonder what most patrons are thinking when they walk in, sit down and are faced with Seven Old Ladies<\/strong>.<\/p>\n Funny how this year the most asked question was, “If we knew any Irish music?”. \u00a0Classic.<\/p>\n It was a great crowd at the Green Lantern<\/a>. \u00a0They sat, they listened, they ate and still had request after request. \u00a0 Wonderful smiles and suggestions kept the music flowing, right up until the very last hour of ten.<\/p>\n In the end, any Saint Patrick’s celebration is a lot of work for us. \u00a0So many songs over so many hours. \u00a0But the rewards always outweigh the troubles or aches and pains.<\/p>\n As always, we will be looking forward to next years’ celebration. \u00a0A day to spend with friends, family and every Irish heart.<\/p>\n Rb<\/p>\n If ever you were looking for contrast from one event year to the next, this year and last\u00a0would be the model. \u00a0St. Patrick’s Day, 2015 was a slow, meandering Tuesday that never fulfilled its promising potential. \u00a0On the other hand, this years’ celebration was vibrant, strong and steady from the beginning of the eight O’clock…<\/p>\n<\/a>
